Who Was John Pollard Seddon? (1827-1906)

John Pollard Seddon London to a long established family of cabinet makers who supplied furniture to both Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle and brother of the Pre-Raphaelite painter Thomas Seddon. Between 1852 and 1863 he ran an architectural practice in partnership with  John Pritchard who had previously worked with A. W. N. Pugin. He produced gothic revival furniture designs for his family firm and Gillows, stoneware pottery for C. J. C. Bailey's Fulham pottery, tiles for Minton, Godwin of Lugwardine and Maw & Co. Church and Domestic metalwork for Hart & Sons and G. Smith & Sons and Stained Glass for S. Belham & Co. His furniture was exhibited at the Medieval Court in the 1862 London Exhibition.
